F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How long does a caricature drawing take when you draw at events?  How many can you do per hour?
A: It takes 3-5 minutes per black and white caricature, so I can draw anywhere from 15 to 20 caricatures per hour depending on how efficient the flow of people is. For each color caricature, it takes about 7-10 minutes; the majority of events I do are black and white, so as many people can get drawn as possible.  I almost always recommend black and white for your events, unless you have an event with a small number of people or if you are having me draw Pet Caricatures.

Q: How many people can you draw in one picture?
A.  One and two person caricatures tend to look best in terms of space, but I can officially fit as many as 3 people upon request.

Q: Do you do caricatures from pictures for gift purposes?
A: Yes – I require good quality pictures; the bigger the better.  You can send pictures via mail or email them to me.  Charge applies if you need pictures returned via mail unless SASE is provided.  Pricing for Gift Caricatures is on the “Rates & Info” page.

Q:  Are babies and toddlers too young and too squirmy to have a caricature drawn?
A:  Surprisingly, young ones do quite well and contrary to popular conception, caricature artists do not require the subject to be perfectly still.  I do plenty of children’s birthday parties and its always a hit!

Q: How much do you charge?
A: Please see “Rates & Info” page.

Q: At what types of events do you draw?
A: I have been hired for and am equally comfortable at a large variety of events such as trade shows, fairs and craft shows, grand openings, corporate media events, holiday events, birthday parties, employee appreciation days, customer appreciation events, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvahs, wedding receptions, all-night high school parties, graduation parties, family reunions, picnics and much more!  Caricatures add something special to ANY kind of event!

Q: What do you need me to provide you to draw caricatures at my event?
A:  Very low-maintenance !  I only require two chairs.  I don’t take up much space at all, but I do recommend an area that is not particularly high-traffic or confined (to avoid people accidently kicking over the easel and for general safety).

Q: Can you provide multiple artists if I have an event with a very large number of people?
A: Absolutely – I have worked with a tight-knit team of fellow artists in Nashville for over 10 years.  If you have a large number of guests and a short time span, multiple artists are the way to make sure every one gets a chance to get drawn.
